So, I learned a new word today…okay. Not so much a new word, but a new term. I learned that “Affordances are the qualities of an object that allows us to perform an action with it”. So what affordances do certain technologies give us? What affordances does a virtual model, or eLearning module give us? I believe that a software suite such as Dreamweaver or Captivate allow us a myriad of affordances as well as functions.
This is the video that I saw that got me thinking about this topic. It’s an interesting talk on how the astrolabe works, and what it was used for.
